Mrs. Casey Watters

Biography

My name is Casey Watters and I am the 6-12 guidance counselor for Geneva County Middle and High Schools. I was an elementary school teacher from 2009-2017 in Houston County, Alabama and Newton County, Georgia. I enjoyed teaching 3rd through 5th grades during my time as an elementary school teacher. Currently, I reside in Malvern, AL with my husband, Daniel and our two children, Cadan and Everly Rose.

I am honored to be a product of the Geneva County School System. I graduated with an advanced diploma from Slocomb High School in May of 2005. I then received a full tuition scholarship to Wallace Community College where I took the basics necessary to become a school teacher. I transferred to Troy University Dothan my Junior year of college with another full tuition scholarship. I graduated Troy University Dothan in 2009 with my Bachelor's Degree in K-6 Elementary Education (Summa Cum Laude). I then began teaching the following fall. After a year of teaching, I was blessed to receive another full tuition scholarship to begin my master's at Troy University Dothan. In 2013 I finished my Master's Degree in School Counseling K-12.

During my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to work with students and teachers from a variety of backgrounds. I enjoy working with others and being a team player. I feel it takes a community to raise a child. I want to be a part of this community and help instill the importance of learning and personal growth. As an educator, I have worked diligently to establish myself as a leader at the schools I have taught. As a team member of Geneva County Middle/High Schools, I plan to continue to build upon my leadership skills.

As a counselor, I plan to work with students, teachers, and administration and interact with them to meet goals, plan instruction, analyze data, teach standards, and create a desirable learning environment. I truly feel blessed to be a Hartford Bulldog!
