Mrs. Suzanna Whitehead

Biography

Hi, I'm Suzanna Whitehead, and I'm thrilled to be your 6th- and 7th- grade English teacher this year! I grew up just down the road in Headland, Alabama and I am proud to call Headland High School my alma mater. I have a passion for both journalism and theater, which led me to pursue a degree in those fields at Troy University. After graduating, I realized my true calling was in education, so I obtained my teaching certificate from Gulf Coast State University in Florida. This is my first year here at Geneva County Middle School, but my eleventh year teaching. I have taught English for eight years and I am also certified in Business Education. 

I am incredibly blessed to have a loving family that includes my wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. We are all avid Troy fans, often cheering on the team in the stands during football and basketball seasons. My husband is a teacher as well, and I am so thankful that we have similar schedules. When we aren't at school, you can often find my family at the beach or spending time in nature. My girls are very active in theater and other activities, so we are always busy doing something with them. I wouldn't have it any other way. 

Teaching is a passion for me and I am dedicated to making our English class engaging, fun, and meaningful. I believe that learning should be a fun and enjoyable experience, and I am so excited to be a Geneva County Bulldog. I can't wait to see all the wonderful things this year has in store for us!
